Urban Stylez Young Choreographers

Urban Stylez Festival is a platform for young international choreographers and will provide the possibility to present their pieces during an international dance festival. The world of Hip Hop and Urban Dance not only exists in battles and street cultures, but also found it’s way on theatre stages and becomes a fusion with contemporary ideas, concepts and dance forms.

At Urban Stylez Young Choreographers you can get the chance to show your work, present your art and win one of the special prices. The winner of Urban Stylez Young Choreographers will get two weeks of residency and an own performance evening in the theatre of DansArt in Germany. There will also be an audience price.

From all applications there will be 8 chosen companies who will be invited to show their pieces during Urban Stylez Festival in April. Rehearsals will take place on sunday, 05.04.2020, between 10 and 15h with professional theatre lights.

Selection criteria are for example creativity, use of the room/the stage, individual signature and quality of movement.

Application:

– 3-20 dancers
– 6-9 minutes piece
– deadline 29.02.2020
– per video (short clip 1min)
